Here you will find answers to the questions most commonly asked by prospective international students. 
 
1. Where can I get the confirmation about my arrival to Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU)?
The confirmation will be issued during your first day of Orientation at the university or later at the International Relations Office (IRO). 
 
2. Where can I get the document confirming my student status at the university needed to apply for ISIC?
The confirmation will be issued at the faculty where you have been assigned to (indicated on your Letter of Invitation).

3. Where can I get the document confirming my student status at the university needed to open the bank account?
The confirmation will be issued at the faculty where you have been assigned to (indicated on your Letter of Invitation).

4. Where can I get the confirmation about my study period at the end of my studies at VGTU?
The confirmation will be issued at the International Relations Office at the end of your studies, right before your departure.

5. Where can I get the document needed to apply for EU citizen certificate at the Migration Office?
The Mediation Letter needed to apply for residence permit (for EU citizens only) will be issued at the International Relations Office. You have to inform IRO by email exchange@vgtu.lt informing that you need this kind of document and the document will be ready within 5 working days. 

6. Where can I get the document needed to apply for National D type visa?
The Mediation Letter needed to apply for residence permit (for EU citizens only) will be issued at the International Relations Office. You have to inform IRO by email exchange@vgtu.lt informing that you need this kind of document and the document will be ready within 3 working days.

7. What requirements of English level do I have to meet upon the admission?
It is required to have an Upper Intermediate/B2 level of English to be able to follow the lectures.

8. What document is needed to prove my language proficiency?
The certificate from your University confirming your English language skills will be sufficient.

9. Where can I get information about accommodation available?
The accommodation options are described on our website.

10. Who do I have to contact about the accommodation at the VGTU dormitory?
The responsible person is the dormitory administrator Mr. Donatas Jodenis donatas.jodenis@vgtu.lt

11. Can anybody help me getting settled in during the first weeks?
Each incoming student is being assigned a Lithuanian student mentor from VGTU. This mentor helps incoming student to integrate into life here and offers insights, directions, practical advice and support. Your mentor will contact you around one month prior to your arrival.

12. My mentor has not contacted me yet, what should I do?
If you have not received any messages from your mentor you should inform VGTU IRO by email exchange@vgtu.lt and we will offer a solution.

13. What documents should I bring to VGTU upon my arrival?
You should bring your passport/ID card, insurance document, have a scan of your signed Learning Agreement, and a scanned Invitation Letter.

14. Where can I get my timetable of the coursers I have chosen to study at VGTU?
The timetable can be found according to the course code or title online.

15. Can I change my Learning Agreement?
Yes. The originally proposed Learning Agreement can be changed within 3 weeks after the semester starts.

16. Where can I get the course list with the subjects available in English?
The most recent list of courses available in English could be found here.

17. Does VGTU offer language courses?
All incoming students can attend Lithuanian language course free of charge. The course starts in a month after the beginning of semester.
